Support Jewel Children's home in Bali

When we visited Jewel Children's Home and worked as volunteers for a short while, we were deeply moved by the work being done there. This orphanage, home to over 20 children, also runs a free daycare for the local community. Jewel Children's Home regularly distributes food packages to the surrounding area as well. They dream of starting a school on their property so the children at the orphanage can attend school there. Additionally, they hope to launch a small laundry business for the locals. Currently, they have a small farm, which makes them largely self-sufficient. The work on the farm also teaches the children the value of hard work.

This orphanage is one of the few in Bali that accepts babies, particularly those whose mothers do not want them or whose families cannot afford to care for them.

The children follow a daily routine where they wake up at 4:00 a.m. for prayer and worship, then have breakfast before heading to school. After school, they return home and have free time until 3:00 p.m. From then until 5:00 p.m., they engage in various tasks before having dinner together at 6:00 p.m. At 8:00 p.m., they participate in prayer, worship, and devotions for about an hour.

The children do not have individual sponsors, and the orphanage currently has no major sponsors, relying entirely on small donations. Their farm provides some support but unfortunately not enough. If you're interested in volunteering here, your help is greatly needed!

Feel free to contact us via the contact form if you would like to donate or work here as a volunteer.

Sometimes volunteers come and stay for anything from a few days to several months to help at the orphanage. Spending time with these sweet children was incredibly rewarding.

The daycare at the orphanage has a small playground where you can often find the children playing.

This is Elsi from the orphanage. She came as a baby because her mother did not want to raise her, and Jewel Children's Home has become her only and beloved family. Today, you can see her running around the daycare center full of joy thanks to the opportunities the orphanage has provided her.

Here the children are learning mathematics.

The children at the daycare are learning to distinguish and name different shapes.
